Google Hangout with KAL, the 35 year veteran political cartoonist from The Economist (Kevin Kallaugher)

I'm a long-time reader of The Economist and one of my favorite parts of every issue is the comics from KAL (Kevin Kallaugher).  His work has been entertaining me (and I'm sure millions of other readers) since I started reading The Economist cover to cover back as a high-school freshman debater.

Fortunately for all of us fans, Michelle Hayden and Mark Johnson from The Economist coordinated a Google Hangout with KAL on April 18, 2013 at 10:30 AM CST.  I had a wonderful time participating with the other readers who joined me for the live chat:

A Blue Dog Travels The Wild West

And they all get their kicks on Route 66!

Wendy Rodrigue has done another amazing job of applying a real context to the stories that surround her husband and world famous artist George Rodrigue in her latest Blogger entry 'The Road.'

In it, she chronicles their drive across country across Route 66 (depicted by George in the above original silkscreen from 2001) and even includes some original photography of her own.

“What I like about the West,” said artist George Rodrigue last week as we navigated Houston rush hour traffic, “is that when you’re there, you’re by yourself.”
